Guard your heart

PASTOR EMMANUEL OGBEHIE LOGO

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

James 4 : 7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

God commands us to resist or rebuke the devil and he will flee. To do this, you first need to recognise how the devil operates. He goes about like a roaring lion looking for whom to make a victim.

His primary strategy is to plant seeds of negative thoughts in the minds of would-be victims. Once a person receives those thoughts and begins to utter them or act in line with them, such a person is actually authorizing Satan to make him a victim. When negative or evil thoughts arise in your mind, you are expected by God to resist such thoughts according to II Corinthians 10:4-5 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ).

Your thoughts and your imaginations are the gateway into your life. The devil will try to use them to gain access by sending arrows of negative thoughts. Your response to such thoughts should be to cast them down using the name of Jesus.

If you feel that you are facing a satanic attack right now, you need to get up in faith and resist the devil. God will not come down to do it for you. This is something you have to do yourself.

Be a doer of the word today, use the weapon of the word and give Satan a quit notice in Jesus’ name.

You also need to stop giving glory to Satan for whatever he is doing.  Get up, put on your fighting gloves and fight the good fight of faith. The name of Jesus is your weapon. The word of God is your sword.

Resist the devil and he will flee. The scripture does not say, cry to God and talk about how much the devil has been busy around your house. Crying and discussing the activities of Satan will give him more room to mess around your house. It’s time for you to rise up in faith and give the devil a quit notice. He is not a legal tenant in your house and you have no reason to allow him stay in your house as though he were a part-owner of the house. (Ephesians 4:27, Amp.)

Use the name of Jesus and rebuke him from every area of your life. The task of putting the devil where he belongs is your responsibility. You must stop looking for who will do that job for you. The devil is the enemy of every believer. He goes about seeking whom he may devour, but the bible doesn’t say it is you he is looking for.  So don’t live in a devil-consciousness! Rather if he comes knocking at your door with any form of evil suggestion, you should look at him in the eyes and say, ‘Satan, keep moving, this is a Holy-Ghost Zone’. Alleluia. I stand in agreement with you today. I rebuke every satanic activity and I declare now that everything associated with him flees from you in Jesus mighty name.
