Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu said “growing signs” indicated Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei “is gone”.

Netanyahu said this in an address to the Israeli nation on Saturday amid coordinated US-Israeli attacks on Iran.

There are growing signs “this dictator” is “gone,” BBC quoted him as saying in his address delivered in Hebrew.

US President Donald Trump also appeared to confirm this in an interview with ABC News.

Trump, who did not name the Ayatollah, said “a lot” of Iran’s leadership is gone.

“We don’t know all, but a lot of it is,” he said.

Netanyahu’s remark has been followed by a flurry of unconfirmed reports insinuating the Iranian leader’s death.

Reuters reports, citing a senior Israeli official, that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s body has been found.

Axios also reported that Israeli ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter has informed US officials that Khamenei was killed in the strike on his compound in Tehran.

However, Iran Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei denied reports of the Ayatollah’s death, telling ABC News the Supreme Leader and President Masoud Pezeshkian are “safe and sound”.
