A pro-democracy group, Save Ebonyi Group (SEG) has protested what they called the illegal and violent activities of Ebubeagu security outfit in Ebonyi State.
The protest came a day after the governorship candidate of APGA in the state was allegedly attacked by suspected operatives of the outfit.
The group in a peaceful protest in Abakaliki on Friday bemoaned what they described as anti-democratic tendencies of Governor David Umahi in Ebonyi State. It accused the governor of turning the state into a torture chamber where citizens were routinely tortured by a militia, on his instructions. The protesters called on President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerians to come to the state’s rescue.
