Group Knocks FG over ambassadorial award on KWAM 1

Kwam 1

The Awareness Group, a non-governmental organisation, has knocked  the Federal Government over plans to bestow ambassadorial award on Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal otherwise known as KWAM l.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, announced that KWAM 1 had been appointed as an ambassador of airport security.

He also announced that the Federal Government had reduced his six-month flight ban to a month.

But the National Co-ordinator of Awareness Group, Hamzat Araoye Balogun, in a statement, described such an award as a national embarrassment following what he called “show of shame” displayed by the Fuji icon at the Abuja airport.

“A man of his calibre in the music industry coupled with his exposure beyond the shores of Nigeria should have behaved better. But given his show of shame, he doesn’t deserve any kind of honour. For someone who failed to follow laid down protocol for passengers but rather displayed arrogance and lawlessness in front of pilots and attendants, he doesn’t deserve any honour. Anybody who chose to go against rules and guidelines laid down by any establishment deserves total condemnation by any reasonable persons in the society.”
