A group, Benin United in Solidarity (BUS) Nigeria, has congratulated new President of Benin Republic, Mr. Romuald Wadagni, on his inauguration.
Wadagni, a former finance minister, took office on Sunday, succeeding Patrice Talon.
He was elected on April 12 with 94 percent of the ballots.
In a statement signed by the group’s Coordinator, Steven Degboe, BUS described Wadagni’s emergence as well-deserved.
“We, the members of the Beninese diaspora in Nigeria, extend our sincere congratulations to the newly elected President, Mr. Romuald Wadagni, on his well-deserved election as President of the Republic of Benin,” the statement reads in part.
Other News
The group also congratulated Minister of Economy, Finance, and Microfinance, Mr. Yenoussi Nicolas, on his appointment.
“All members of BUS – Benin United in Solidarity Nigeria – pray that Almighty God grants the President the wisdom, strength, and intelligence needed to lead the country toward a better future.
“We also pray that God grants the Minister the experience, courage, and ability to work hand in hand with the President for the development and prosperity of the Republic of Benin.
“We, members of the Beninese diaspora in Nigeria, hereby congratulate the President and all the newly appointed ministers.
“May God grant them strength, wisdom, and unity to lead the affairs of Benin toward greater success,” the statement further reads.
