A human rights group, Stayalert Human Right Awareness Initiative, has lauded the courage of the National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Archbishop Daniel Okoh, over his position on the continued security challenges in the country.  The group, in its statement in Owerri signed by its Executive Director, Lady Onah, and Chief Isidore Nwadike, director of Communication, highlighted Archbishop Okoh’s courage, clarity, and foresight in steering CAN through national crises.

The group also commended Archbishop Okoh’s speech during the meeting of the Nigeria Interreligious Council (NIREC), where he condemned violence in Nigeria and called on religious leaders to encourage citizens to shun violence, emphasising the importance of peace, love, unity and justice for perpetrators of violence.
