Sani in a statement on Saturday noted that if state police is eventually created, governors would abuse it by using the police under their command as attack dogs against political opponents, especially during electioneering.

The Federal Government had at the executive council meeting penultimate Thursday hinted that it might create state police to combat the nation’s growing level of insecurity.

The president and governors have agreed on working out the modalities for the setting up of state police.
