The Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, on Friday, visited Dangote Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited (DPAN), where he unveiled the (2026) Peugeot 3008 and 5008 – two new models assembled at the plant located on the outskirts of Kaduna.

The governor described the addition of the two models to the Peugeot range provided in the Nigerian market as a milestone and a strong demonstration of the company’s continued commitment to innovation, local manufacturing, and the growth of the domestic automotive industry.

Senator Uba Sani commended the President of Dangote Industries Ltd., Alhaji Aliko Dangote, for being patriotic and committed to the economic development of Nigeria by always looking inwards with his investments.

.He noted that investments like the ones in DPAN  contribute significantly to industrial development, technology transfer, job creation, and economic growth, while reaffirming the Kaduna State

Government’s commitment to supporting credible private-sector investments that create opportunities and strengthen the State’s industrial base.

Backing his words with action, Gov. Sani pledged to hand over the official land title documents to the company and assured the management that he would engage his fellow state governors to rally broader support and patronage for DPAN nationwide.

He  promised to make a presentation at the National Economic Council (NEC) for ministries, departments and agencies to patronise vehicles produced by DPAN Limited.

He pointed out that DPAN had created jobs in Kaduna State, addressed some skill gaps and boosted the local economy of the factory’s immediate environment and Kaduna State as a whole.

He said, “I will make a strong presentation at the National Economic Council, urging both the federal and state governments to patronise the products of this company because that is the only way they can survive.

“As a government, Kaduna State will order some of the vehicles, so that we can show the example for others to follow by patronising this very important company.”

Gov. Sani also promised to give DPAN the necessary support required because Kaduna State is a shareholder in the company and pledged to deepen the partnership.

He called on the company to “consider some of our graduates who graduated from the Institute of Vocational and Skills Development just last week. They have gone through intensive training in partnership with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).”

The governor, who commended DPAN for its corporate social responsibility by supporting communities around the company’s area of operation, urged the management to do more.

He added that the host community and DPAN were coexisting peacefully, adding, “And the only way that we can maintain this harmony is by giving adequate support.”

It was learnt during the official unveiling of the 3008 and 5008 that preparations were in top gear to commence the production of more models at the  DPAN factory, which is one of Nigeria’s newest auto production facilities.

While the Peugeot 3008 is a compact crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV),

the Peugeot 5008 is a bigger, mid-size family SUV.
