A stalwart of Labour Party in Abia State, Hon Iheanyi Ugochukwu popularlyknown as Hon Prince Ugo has declared that Abia state Governor, Dr Alex Otti has all it takes to transform Abia state into one of the most developed states in Nigeria.
In an interview with newsmen recently, the Uzuakoli-Abia born politician and business man who is also the Media Director to Eze Ndigbo Ghana, HRM Eze Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu said, even before Dr. Otti became governor, and he has always believed in his acumen to lead the state right. He regretted that over the years, the state fell into the hands of Mafians who milked the state dry.
“The state fell from number 1 to the poorest state in the federation in the area of infrastructure. Roads were filled with potholes, while refuse took over the better part of the highway.
The state capital Umuahia was not left out of the rot as the seat of government, Abia Govt House, was alleged to be rented facilities and huge amounts paid for rent.
“But when Gov Otti came in, transformation began immediately, and within 1 year in office, he has done a lot.
“Specifically, he has done a lot in the area of road construction. dualising roads that lead to the heartland of Abia State”
Speaking on Abia and recently Commission of Geometric power plant which now supply regular power to the Ehimba city, Hon. Ugo said the steady power supply will boost industries in the area and also encourage investors outside Igbo land to think home by investing in the state.
“On this note, I wish to commend Gov Otti for massive reconstruction of roads and drainage in Aba and the environ.
“Today, work is steadily going on in all parts of the state, including remote areas like Mkpa and urban areas like Uzuakoli, among others.”
On his future ambition, Hon. Ugo said that with his experience and exposure as an international bussiness man, he is to take up greater responsibility in service to his good people if Abia state.
