The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi state on Road Safety, Dr. Suberu Yusuf John has declared for the position of the House of Representatives of the Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency.
Making his declaration on Wednesday at a colourful ceremony
at the Ege Community Football Field, the young aspirant claimed his community and district where he came from have been long marginalized and under developed and needed a vibrant youth who would lead the area to national limelight
According to him, ” My desire to serve is a confession; it is a cry from the heart of a son who deeply loves his people and can no longer remain silent while his land suffers
“There are mornings when I wake up and cannot return to sleep. Not because of personal worries, but because the faces of our people appear before me in the quiet of the might.
“The face of a young man who graduated from university four years ago, yet remains unemployed, watching his dreams slowly fade while his mother’s sacrifices hang in uncertainty.
“The face of a widow in Okehi who struggles daily to survive, wondering if anyone in government even knows she exists.
” The face of a little girl in Adavi who walks long distances to school without shoes, clutching her worn-out books like a precious treasure her, education is the only hope she has.

“These faces refuse to leave my mind. These faces brought me here today.
“And so today, with a full heart, trembling hands, and a spirit that refuses to remain silent, I stand before you to formally declare my intention to contest for the Federal House of Representatives seat representing the good people of Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency” he added
The Aspirant then used the occasion to give scholarship award to over 40 students,distributed food items to over 1,500 people, provided financial support to over 100 individuals and distributed phones to some beneficiaries to help them connect and participate in today’s global world.
Several Community and party leaders who spoke on the occasion described Dr Yusuf John as a God fearing man who has done so much for the people and needed to be massively supported to clinch the House of Rep seat to uplift the area.
