The Emir of Zuru and Chairman of Zuru Emirate in Council, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo III, has disclosed that Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris has performed credibly well in improving socio economic well being of the people of the State.
Mika’ ilu stated this during a courtesy visits by the media team to his palace in Zuru led by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed.
Addressing the media team, Emir said “without fear of contradiction, Governor Nasir Idris has performed creditably well in improving the socio-economic well-being of the people of the state”.
He noted that it is “no longer a secret” that the Governor, Garkuwan Zuru, has saved lives and restored economic fortunes, particularly through the reconstruction of the long-abandoned Koko-Zuru federal road”..
The Emir also highlighted other achievements, including the establishment of mega secondary schools with additional subjects and skills acquisition programs,rehabilitation, and construction of new healthcare institutions across the four local government areas of the emirate.
Mika’ilu commended the governor’s foresight in initiating the tour to showcase government projects and challenged the media team to “not only sustain the tempo but also improve on it.”
He added: “Although as leaders to all, regardless of political affiliation, we will remain apolitical, but we must appreciate and commend whoever attends to the yearnings and aspirations of our people.”
In a similar vein, the Chief of Wasagu, Alhaji Mukhtar Muhammad Musa, at his palace, commended Governor Idris for his commitment to tackling armed banditry.
He, however, called for a periodic review of security strategies to ensure sustainable operations.
Also, at his palace, the Chief of Dabai, Alhaji Suleiman Mika’ilu Sami, appreciated the state government’s empowerment programs, saying that they have direct and positive impacts on the well-being of the people.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed, who led the media team and Special Advisers, said the tour was aimed at seeking the support of media organizations in the country, traditional rulers and other stakeholders in changing the narrative of Kebbi state development.
