Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has set up a forensic audit panel to investigate Lobi Stars Football Club’s finances. This followed persistent complaints of non-payment of salaries by players and officials despite Government financial obligation to the club.
Governor Alia disclosed this when he received the newly appointed Technical Adviser of the club, Daniel Amokachi, at Government House, Makurdi.
Governor Alia praised Amokachi’s international football career and urged him to turn around the fortunes of the club for better.
He also presented him with a branded jersey of the club.
Amokachi appreciated the Governor and the people of Benue state for the warm reception accorded him since he arrived. He emphasised the importance of paying players salaries, which he described as a big motivation for team to perform well in the football league . Members of the forensic audit team are Mr. Sam Chir, Bishop Dzungwe, Akpusugh Terungwa and Dr. Gberindyer Chia. Earlier, Chairman of Lobi Stars, Dr. Philip Nongu, said he was in Government House Makurdi to present the new Technic Adviser of the club.
