Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has reported a noticeable decline in insecurity in the local government areas of the state attributing it to the commitment and collaborative efforts of stakeholders to restore peace.
The governor stated this while addressing the Extended All Progrrssive Congress (APC) Caucus Meeting held in Makurdi.
Governor Alia emphasised the importance of collective effort in enhancing democracy and securing a prosperous future for Benue and
expressed his gratitude to party members for their unwavering support and commitment to the development of the state.
He welcomed parties leaders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Labour Party (LP) and some of their supporters to the APC.
The Governor also addressed significant developments in the political landscape, revealing a growing shift towards the APC, reinforced by the presence of key political figures from various parties including the PDP, ADC and Labour Party (LP) who decamped to the APC in the state.
“This overwhelming support from these key stakeholders in the different opposition political parties in the state and existing members of the APC indicates the positive contributions we are making,” he noted.
Further highlighting the administration’s achievements, Governor Alia reported a noticeable decline in insecurity in local governments due to collaborative efforts to restore peace.
He reiterated the administration’s commitment to agricultural initiatives, announcing funds and resources to support farmers and foster sustainable development.

He expressed worry over contractors who he said duped the state in the name of supplying fertiliser to the state, adding that those who got involved in such dubious activities will face the consequences of their actions.
In education, the governor announced extensive renovations in primary schools, emphasising the importance of quality education for future generations.
He reassured the party men and women of the administration’s commitment to transparent governance, citing timely salary payments as evidence of his administration’s dedication to the common people.
“As we fight for the masses, we remain resolute in our pursuit of peace and stability in Benue,” he declared.
Governor Alia urged everyone present to maintain focus and positivity, stating, “Together, we can ensure our great party remains a beacon of hope and a source of progress for the people of Benue State.”
He extended his gratitude to the Women’s Leader for articulating the needs of women, pledging to advocate initiatives that directly benefit this demographic saying “I promise to continue prioritizing issues affecting women.”
He appreciated the Central Working Committee, led by Chief Benjamin Omale, for their commitment to strengthening the APC in Benues adding that “Your dedication is a testament to true leadership.”
