Benue State Governor Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has sent his heartfelt condolences to his colleague and Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi, and his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.
Governor Namadi had lost his mother in the early hours of Wednesday, December 25th, 2024, and barely 24 hours later, his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, was involved in a fatal car accident, which claimed his life.
Governor Alia who received the news of the double tragedy with shock, described it as a painful moment for not just the immediate family of Governor Namadi, but the entire people of Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole.

He urged his colleague to take solace in the fact that it is God who giveth and God who taketh away.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Alia prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the painful demise of Hajiya Maryam and Abdulwahab Umar.
The Governor also prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
