Gov. Agbu Kefas receives Neya Kalu Foundation, Annomo Health in Jalingo

This Monday, November 10, 2025, the Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, received the Neya Kalu Foundation and Annomo Health at the TY Danjuma House, Jalingo.

While receiving the two organizations, Dr. Kefas emphasized that every resident of Taraba State, particularly children and pregnant women, deserved access to quality healthcare, even in the most remote areas.

He assured the visitors and residents of the state at large that his government would continue to prioritize the protection and wellbeing of schoolchildren across the state.

According to him, buses and mini ambulances would be provided to the 60 remodeled schools under construction across the state.

The governor further directed the Commissioner for Health to embark on a comprehensive tour of medical facilities across Taraba State, in collaboration with the organizations, to identify areas requiring upgrades to achieve universal access to quality healthcare.

In her presentation, the team lead of the Neya Kalu Foundation, Sarah Gideon, said the foundation’s proposal aims at transforming the state’s healthcare system within five years of implementation.

She explained that the organization plans to supply 200 fully equipped mini buses, 20 mini ambulances, 2,000 bicycles, and 2,000 first aid kits across the 16 local government areas of the state, ensuring that no community remains isolated in terms of healthcare delivery.

Similarly, Dr. Chichi Menkaya, who represented Annomo Health, said the organization would leverage its proven track record to help build world-class healthcare facilities in the state.

Dr. Menkaya added that, to achieve this goal, the organization would introduce improved healthcare governance, clinical policies and financially sustainable solutions that ensure hospitals function effectively for the benefit of all residents.
