The Gombe State Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers allegedly responsible for a violent home invasion and robbery in the Bajoga community of Funakaye Local Government Area (LGA).
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the suspects were apprehended in connection with an armed attack on one Muhammed Ahmed, a 25-year-old resident of Unguwar Matasa Quarters in Bajoga, in the early hours of June 26, 2025.
The suspects, identified as 30-year-old Manu Muhammed, also known as “Bappa Charger,” and Auwalu Muhammed, 19, alias “Yellow,” both of Bajoga; Ubaida Sani, 19, of Pantami Quarters; and Hussaini Muhammed, 19, of Madaki Quarters in Gombe metropolis, allegedly conspired and stormed the victim’s residence armed with machetes and sticks.
“They forcefully gained entry into the residence at about 1:30 am and threatened to kill the victim if he refused to cooperate,” DSP Buhari disclosed. According to him, under duress, the suspects allegedly stole a Haojue UD motorcycle valued at N1.6 million, three Android phones worth N336,000, and N134,000 in cash.
Following the incident, officers of the Bajoga Police Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), launched a swift intelligence-led operation that resulted in the successful arrest of all four suspects.
DSP Buhari disclosed that items recovered from the suspects include one fabricated master key, three machetes, one knife, one Haojue UD motorcycle, three Android phones, and N74,150 in cash.
“The suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents across the state, calling on the public to remain vigilant and provide timely information that could assist law enforcement in combating criminal activity.
