Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has declared that the opposition in the state has exhausted its political ideas, insisting that his administration’s record of achievements across key sectors has left its critics with nothing substantive to campaign against.

The governor made the assertion during the swearing-in of newly appointed commissioners, special advisers, and permanent secretaries in Gombe.

Governor Yahaya said his administration would remain focused on governance and refrain from engaging in personal attacks, maintaining that its performance over the past seven years would continue to speak for itself.

According to him, the government has transformed the social, economic, and developmental landscape of Gombe State through sustained investments in infrastructure and the delivery of essential public services across all 240 political wards.

“We have delivered such unprecedented dividends of democracy that the opposition has been left completely bankrupt of ideas. They have nothing left to campaign about and have thus resorted to desperate, personal attacks,” the governor said.

He added that rather than responding to political distractions, his administration would continue to present its achievements before the electorate as it approaches the end of its second term.

“We will continue to campaign strictly on real issues, on what we have done, on our solid track record and on the stark contrast between how we met Gombe State and how we are going to leave it across every facet of development,” Governor Yahaya stated.

The governor urged the newly inaugurated members of the State Executive Council to sustain the momentum of development by implementing government policies efficiently and ensuring that ongoing projects are completed within the remaining period of the administration.

He further stressed that the achievements of the new appointees would serve as the administration’s strongest campaign message ahead of the 2027 general elections, charging them to work with integrity, discipline, and commitment to consolidate the government’s legacy of development and institutional reforms across Gombe State.
