Former Minister of Transport Sa’idu Ahmed Alkali intensified his governorship campaign in Gombe State on Tuesday, rallying support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and urging members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to vote for him in the party’s forthcoming governorship primary election.
Alkali made the appeal shortly after touring parts of the Gombe metropolis, where he met residents, party loyalists and community stakeholders to solicit support for his governorship ambition.
Speaking during the campaign tour, the former minister called on APC members to remain united and committed to the party’s ideals ahead of the primary election, stressing the need to consolidate the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

He said his decision to contest the governorship seat was driven by a desire to deepen development across Gombe State and strengthen the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
Alkali also pledged to prioritise infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education and economic growth if elected as the APC governorship candidate and subsequently governor of the state.
Supporters who accompanied the former minister during the tour expressed confidence in his leadership capacity, describing him as an experienced politician with a track record of public service.
The campaign visit attracted party supporters and residents across different parts of the state capital as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the APC primary election in Gombe State.
