Nigerian Army troops of the 243 Reconnaissance (Recce) Battalion and 15 Field Engineer Regiment stationed in Badagry, Lagos State, have been charged to remain disciplined, professional and law-abiding in the discharge of their duties.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Major General Adebayo Babalola, gave the charge on Tuesday during an operational and familiarisation visit to the units in Badagry, Lagos State. He commended the troops for the level of professionalism displayed and urged them to sustain the standard.
The GOC said ongoing reforms within the Nigerian Army were designed to enhance operational effectiveness and improve service conditions. He assured personnel that their welfare and that of their families remained a priority under the Army’s “Soldier First Culture”.
He, however, warned against harassment of law-abiding civilians, stressing the need for strict adherence to rules of engagement at all times.
