The unveiling of Global Affairs Magazine recently took place in Victoria Island, Lagos, where friends and well-wishers gathered for the event.
Other activities marking the day included giving out of Global Affairs Magazine Awards GAMA 2022 to deserving Nigerians, rib-cracking comedy and song ministrations to thrill the audience.
The theme of the programme was ‘Touching Hands, Healing Hearts’.
Speaking during the maiden edition of the unveiling of the magazine, the publisher, Regina Robinson, described the event as a memorable one.
She said it delights her to solve the problems of other people, adding that the beauty of life is not about how happy you are but how happy others can be because of you.
According to her, the magazine is published monthly with the intent to disseminate entertaining and informative contents.
She explained that the awards were for Nigerians who had one way or the other selflessly supported people in need.
Also, the chairman of the day, Rev. Samuel Ikpea, described the awards as a welcome development.
He was pleased with how the body supported children with cerebral palsy challenge and how it is also discovering football game talents.
“We need to help create a better world,” he said.
One of the awardees, Ronke Kuku, a lawyer, advised the women to be engaged on things that will affect their lives positively. She maintained that today’s world is technology-driven and urged them to always be compliant.
She said: “Even the data you use to login to Facebook, you can do meaningful business online with this same data instead of wasting it.”
The CEO of Princess Unlimited Sizes, Princess Cynthia Andrew, called on Nigerian women never to give up in the pursuit of their legitimate businesses and careers and hailed them as the strongest women in the world.
“They know how to endure and get what they want. Women should not fold their arms and stay at home doing nothing. They must contribute to keep their family going,” she counseled.
Those who graced the occasion included Tee. Mac Omatshola Iseli, a representative from the Oni of Ife, Aare Tunde Odofin, Mrs. Chioma Okoro, who is the woman leader of the Ohanaze of Ndi-Igbo in Lagos, chairman of the occasion, Samuel Ikpeyonge, among others.
