The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has told countries struggling with fuel shortages due to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz to take matters into their own hands.
Trump made the remarks via his official social media platform the Truth media, suggesting that nations affected by the blockade should either buy oil from the United States or secure it themselves.
According to him, “All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved… I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty.”
He added a more forceful option, saying, “Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT.”
