GEPLEX Youth Foundation has stressed the need for empowerment opportunities for young Nigerians, making them readily available and useful in the 21st century world driven by technology.
The Foundation President, Ezechimere Nwaobia Jesse, made the call at the GEPLEX Youth Leadership Conference held in Lagos, which brought together an extraordinary blend of young leaders, industry experts, and change makers to explore the theme: “Empowering Leaders: From Vision to Action.”
Jesse explained that the conference provided a platform for meaningful dialogue and engagements, and that participants had the opportunity to share their experiences, networked with peers, and connect with mentors who could guide them on their leadership journeys.
He also said the conference aligns with GEPLEX Youth Foundation’s broader mission to empower Africa’s youth through innovative program such as leadership development and training programmes, equipping youths with essential leadership skills.
“It was also aimed to inspire young people to lead with purpose, build sustainable solutions, and drive positive change across Africa,” he explained.
He said the GEPLEX’s commitment to empowering Africa’s youth was evident in its meticulously curated sessions, which included two keynote speeches, fireside chats, and a compelling spoken word poetry performance, stressing that each segment was designed to equip attendees with actionable strategies for leadership and community impact.
The keynote speaker, Fii Stephen Michael, a digital marketing consultant, captivated the audience with a powerful exposures on digital leadership, sharing insights into developing a clear leadership strategy to achieve social change.
Another speaker, Chinaza Favour, highlighted the importance of networking and building alliances, as well as relationships to create lasting change, adding that both speakers, however, reinforced the importance of self-awareness, resilience, and collaboration in effective leadership.
Meanwhile, there was fireside chat which had panelists such as Mr. Anthony Anenechukwu, CEO Parktel International Limited; Alhaji Bello Minjibir, Director, Transport and Logistics, BUA Cement; Ezechimere Nwaobia, President and Founder, GEPLEX Youth Foundation and Emmanuel Nduka, a vibrant young social entrepreneur.
The fireside chats offered an intimate platform for extensive dialogue and experience sharing, encouraging young leaders to ask questions and seek clarity on pressing leadership challenges.
