Former presidential candidate, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has congratulated Nigeria’s Muslim faithful as the country marks the end of Ramadan.
The Eid Mubarak marks the end of the annual fast by Muslims all over the world to end the month-long supplication to God for forgiveness and blessings.
In a message on his Facebook page, Dr. Hashim remarked that “as we mark the completion of Ramadan and celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I join millions of Nigerians and the global community to congratulate you on this joyous occasion.
“Ramadan has been a period of spiritual rejuvenation, self-reflection and sacrifice.
“Your devotion, perseverance and commitment to your faith are a testament to the values that bind us together as a people.”
He added: “As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, let us remember the lessons of Ramadan-compassion, forgiveness and the pursuit of peace.
“May these values continue to guide us as we strive to build a more just and equitable society.
“I wish the Muslim faithful a joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration filled with love, laughter and time with family and friends.”
