Atalanta coach, Gian Piero Gasperini says he’s not too happy with Nigerian striker Ademola Lookman, citing “injuries,” a lack of “alternative solutions,” and various “incidents” as key reasons behind dropped points at home this season. He admitted that the team has struggled to regain the attacking cohesion displayed earlier in the campaign.
La Dea secured a 4-0 victory over Monza, improving their impressive away record, having collected 39 out of 68 Serie A points on the road, in stark contrast to their inconsistency at the Gewiss Stadium.
Gasperini commented on the performances of Charles De Ketelaere and Ademola Lookman, both of whom were disappointed against Lecce but responded strongly by contributing to three of La Dea’s four goals in the match.
“De Ketelaere started really strong; he did very well,” Gasperini said. “Lookman did well in the second half; I wasn’t too happy with him in the first.”
