Garba Umar-Uba emerges APC candidate for Ngaski/Shanga/Yauri federal constituency

Mr.Garba Umar-Uba has clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for Ngaski/Shanga/Yauri federal constituency.

The Returning Officer and former deputy governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Abdulmalik Mahmud said Umar-Uba scored 140 votes to defeat Dr. Abubakar Jibrin who got eight votes while two votes were invalid.

He said the electoral committee screened 50 delegates each from Yauri, Ngaski and Shanga local government areas totalling150 delegates in the three council areas.

The returning officer said: “I, Abdulmalik Mahmud, the returning officer for Ngaski/Shanga/Yauri federal constituency primary election, declare Garba Umar-Uba as winner haven scored the highest number of votes and certified the requirements of the law.”

Mahmud appreciated the delegates for their orderliness and decorum before, during and after the primary election.

On his part, the APC Chairman in Kebbi State, Alhaji Muhammadu Kana lauded the Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, for giving the party members free hand to choose their representative.

The chairman described the act of the governor as a testimony of his transparent mind to lead the state to promise land, adding that: “with Kauran Gwandu, time for imposition of candidates is over. Kebbi people are now enjoying true democracy. We are happy that internal democracy has now arrived Kebbi State, mandate of the people is truly manifesting. That’s what we lack in our nation’s democracy but Kauran Gwandu has now restored our hope in internal democracy.”
