Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has described the late Emir of Dutse, Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi, as an embodiment of humility and culture of his people.
The governor stated this on Wednesday while condoling the government and people of Jigawa State following the passage of the monarch, who died on Tuesday at an Abuja hospital.
“On behalf of the government and people of Kano state, I am extending our condolences to the Jigawa State government, his immediate families and the people of the state over the death of our revered Emir of Dutse, Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi, who passed away when we needed him the most,” governor Ganduje said.
He added that the death of the Emir has left a huge vacuum, in the traditional institution not only in Jigawa State but in the entire Caliphate of Uthman Dan Fodio across many communities in the country and beyond.
“We really lost a great, amiable, humble, exceptionally disciplined and righteous Emir. who believes in creating a harmonious relationship between the traditional institution and the public. We indeed lost a rare gem of all fronts,” he emphasized.
“May Allah forgive all his shortcomings in life. May Jannatul Fiddaus be his final abode in the hereafter. May Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala assist what he left to continue following his footsteps,” Governor Ganduje prayed.
