The Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (GIEPA) has invited the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of First Class Refreshments Limited, Dr. Badamasi S. Burji, to explore investment opportunities and consider establishing a business presence in the country.
The invitation followed a recent visit by GIEPA Chief Executive Officer, Ousainou Senghore, and his delegation to Burji’s office.
In a letter addressed to Burji, Senghore expressed appreciation for the hospitality extended to the delegation, saying they were impressed by the Nigerian businessman’s achievements, business acumen and commitment to excellence.
Senghore said the delegation appreciated the opportunity to learn from Burji’s business experience and witness the impact of his investments.
He described Burji’s success as a testament to “visionary leadership and hard work,” and invited him to visit The Gambia to explore investment opportunities available in the country.
“We would be honoured to welcome you to The Gambia to explore the many investment opportunities available and consider establishing a business presence in our country,” Senghore said.
He expressed confidence that The Gambia offered promising prospects for growth and mutually beneficial partnerships.
Responding to the invitation, Burji thanked Senghore and the GIEPA delegation for the visit, saying it was a pleasure to receive them.
He said he had followed with keen interest the progress being made by The Gambia in creating an investment-friendly environment and commended GIEPA for promoting the country as a gateway for investment in West Africa.
Burji also cited The Gambia’s peace, stability and hospitality as attractions for investors.
“I am delighted to accept your kind invitation to visit The Gambia,” he said, adding that he looked forward to exploring investment opportunities in agriculture, agribusiness and other priority sectors.
According to him, the visit would also provide an opportunity to discuss partnerships that could contribute to the economic development of The Gambia while strengthening the ties between Nigeria and The Gambia.
