Creative Director of Ovo by Nath, Nathaniel Omeyoma, made a distinctive mark as his models strutted on the runway, displaying creative designs in the Fusion collection, which he showcased at the Men’s Fashion Week Nigeria 2026, held in Lagos.
The collection is a refined expression of cultural identity, heritage, elegance, and contemporary African sophistication. Inspired by the meeting of two cultural worlds—the designer’s Urhobo roots in the Niger Delta and the vibrant Yoruba heritage of Lagos, the collection explores what happens when distinct traditions exist side by side.
In the collection, movement on the Niger Delta waterways, the symbolism of the canoe, the dignity of coral beads, and the artistry of Urhobo heritage met the grandeur of Agbada, the craftsmanship of Adire, and the ceremonial elegance of Yoruba culture.
Explaining the design concept, Omeyoma said: “Rather than contrasting these identities, Fusion celebrates their coexistence. Each piece becomes a conversation between heritage and modernity, tradition and contemporary expression, rootedness and evolution.
At the heart of the collection is Omeyoma’s belief that true elegance does not need to announce loudly itself. Through intentional silhouettes, refined details, cultural references, and understated sophistication, Fusion transforms heritage into a language of modern African style.
“Every garment is thoughtfully crafted to honour where we come from while embracing where we are going—a reflection of the strength, grace, and beauty that emerge when cultures meet, influence one another, and create something entirely new.”
