Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will finally meet in the ring on December 11, with their long-awaited all-British heavyweight showdown confirmed for the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
The blockbuster fight was officially announced on Thursday by Saudi boxing powerbroker Turki Alalshikh, ending years of negotiations and repeated delays over the venue and date.
The clash will be streamed globally on Netflix, with the 80,000-capacity Cardiff stadium selected after London and New York were previously considered as possible venues.
“For 15 years no one has been able to make this fight,” Alalshikh said in announcing the bout.
“Back in April, I said that any announcement would come from me. I can now confirm that Fury Vs Joshua will be coming to the UK, as I promised British boxing fans. The time for talking is over…”
The two former world champions had already signed contracts earlier this year, but disagreements over the venue delayed the official confirmation. The fight will now give both heavyweights a definitive date to prepare for one of the most anticipated British boxing clashes in years.
Fury has won 36 of his 39 professional fights and held the WBC, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles during his career. He twice lost to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.
Joshua has 30 wins from 34 fights and has also held multiple heavyweight titles. He suffered consecutive defeats to Usyk in 2021 and 2022 before returning to winning ways.
Fury defeated Mariusz Wach in Thailand in July, while Joshua recovered from two first-round knockdowns to stop Kristian Prenga in his last fight.
The promotional build-up will begin with a press conference in London on September 30, when the two rivals are expected to face the media ahead of their December showdown.
