- 114 students bag first class

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti ( FUOYE) is set to confer honorary degrees on Senator Opeyemi Bamidele ( Leader of the Senate) Senator Solomon Adeola ( Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance) and Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi( Chairman, House Committee on Navy) during the 8th Convocation ceremony of the institution slated for Saturday, February 10.
Also, a total of 6,563 students would be graduating from the University.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sunday Fasina stated this in Ado-Ekiti on Monday at a press conference heralding the convocation, where he said that the President of the Senate, Senator God’swill Akpabio, is the Special Guest of Honour at the occasion.
According to the VC, Bamidele will be conferred with Doctor of Law, while Adeola will get Doctor of Accounting and Gadgi will bag Doctor of Political Science.
Giving the breakdown of the graduating students, Fasina said 114 are for First Class, 2,762 are Second Class Upper, 2,793 are Second Class Lower, 688 are Third Class, 36 are Postgraduate students,163 are Masters and 7 are Postgraduate Diploma.
Fasina explained that the three eminent personalities were carefully selected for the honorary degrees in recognition of their various contributions to the development of education in the country.
