Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) is set to confer honorary degrees on Opeyemi Bamidele (leader of the Senate), Solomon Adeola (chairman, Senate Committee on Finance) and Yusuf Gagdi (chairman, House Committee on Navy) during the eighth convocation ceremony slated for Saturday, February 10.

Also, 6,563 students would graduate from the university.

The Vice Chancellor, Sunday Fasina, stated this in Ado-Ekiti, yesterday, during a press conference heralding the convocation, where he said the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, would be the special guest of honour.

Fasina said 114 are for First Class, 2,762 are Second Class Upper, 2,793 are Second Class Lower, 688 are Third Class, 36 are postgraduate students,163 are Masters and seven are post-graduate diploma.

Bamidele, Adeola and Gadgi will be conferred with Doctor of Law, Doctor of Accounting and Doctor of Political Science respectively.

He said the three eminent personalities were carefully selected for the honorary degrees in recognition of their various contributions to the development of education in the country.
