FUJI: A Opera is set to celebrate its fifth anniversary with Fuji Vibrations 2025, an annual open-air event dedicated to the evolution, influence, and cultural power of Fuji music.
Themed “THIS IS FUJI,” this year’s edition takes place on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Muri Okunola Park, Lagos.
Since its inception in 2020 as a dynamic, multi-dimensional exhibition at Alliance Française de Lagos, FUJI: A Opera has transformed into a movement that redefines how a new generation experiences indigenous Nigerian music.
Over the past five years, it has played a pivotal role in repositioning Fuji—from a once-misunderstood genre to a leading cultural force embedded in Nigeria’s contemporary pop landscape. The annual Fuji Vibrations concert now stands as a key cultural event, attracting thousands of fans and connecting iconic Fuji veterans with emerging artists nationwide.
The 2025 theme, “THIS IS FUJI,” highlights both the genre’s enduring confidence and growing relevance. Fuji’s resilience has inspired a wave of Afrobeats stars who now draw from the music’s rhythms, cadences, and vibrant aesthetic.
This year’s line-up features some of Fuji’s most renowned icons—K1 De Ultimate, Abass Obesere, Saheed Osupa, KS1 Malaika, Adio Atawewe, Taye Currency, SK Sensation, and Shanko Rasheed—joined by a new generation of rising talents from across Nigeria.
The programme also includes collaborations with DJs, designers, and visual artists, elevating Fuji’s creative ecosystem far beyond the music itself.
“Fuji is no longer on the sidelines,” said Bobo Omotayo, Creator and Founder of FUJI: A Opera. “Today, it’s the pulse behind the sound of modern Nigeria. With THIS IS FUJI, we’re not just celebrating a genre, we’re celebrating its subculture and claiming its rightful place in the global music narrative. This edition is about identity, pride and ownership.”
Last year’s edition drew more than 7,000 fans, turning Muri Okunola Park into a vibrant celebration of rhythm, colour and unity. Organisers note the 2025 event will be even larger, with a multi-sensory experience combining live music, fashion, art, and heritage—each defined by Fuji’s unmistakable sound.
FUJI: A Opera’s steady growth has been anchored by its longstanding partnership with the Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN), under the leadership of Alhaji Sikiru Agboola, popularly known as Kolotiti. The association continues to guide the platform’s mission—preserving Fuji’s legacy while nurturing the next generation of stars.
“Our partnership with FUMAN is proof that Fuji’s strength lies in togetherness,” said Tosin Ashafa, Executive Producer of FUJI: A Opera. “From day one, FUMAN has stood beside us, ensuring Fuji’s heartbeat stays strong and collective.”
The milestone anniversary edition will be an early highlight of Nigeria’s Detty December festivities, celebrating Fuji’s journey from Lagos streets to global acclaim. Supported by Goldberg Lager Beer, DIAGEO, Zuri, and other partners, the 2025 event promises exceptional musical heritage and artistry.
Attendance is free, with online registration required.
