A lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma in Katsina State, Dr Tiri Gyan David was murdered by bandits on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was the Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development.
A telephone witness who spoke to Channels revealed that the development occurred around 1:30 am at Dr. David’s residence in the Yarima Quarters, Low-Cost Estate, Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.

It was gathered that the assailants stormed the community armed with sophisticated weapons and shot sporadically. Two of Dr David’s children were abducted in the invasion.
The tragedy was confirmed by the Katsina Police Command spokesman, Abubakar Sadiq who added that a statement would soon be issued.
