Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has charged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to repay the trust reposed in them by contributing their quota meaningfully to the success of 2027 general elections in particular, and nation building at large.
He stated this on Friday, at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area, when he addressed 2026 Batch C stream II corps members and declared their orientation course open.
The governor, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Bureau, office of the Secretary to the State Government, Promise Oguzie, also assured the Corps members of his administration’s commitment to prioritise their security and welfare at all times.

He reminded the corps members of the need to uphold high moral values, neutrality, patriotism, integrity, honesty and transparency” when they work as INEC ad-hoc during the 2027 general election and in doing so, “strengthen the nation’s democracy and enthrone credible leadership across board.”
A total of 4,485 corps members were deployed to Rivers State and were sworn in by Justice Victor Ugorji who represented the Chief Judge of the state.
