- Submits names to House of Assembly for confirmation

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has forwarded caretaker chairmen for the state’s 23 local government units.
The governor forwarded the list to the three-member Rivers State House of Assembly, chaired by Speaker Victor Jumbo.
This comes amid a growing political crisis in the state as a result of past council chairmen’s unwillingness to quit their seats after their terms expired.
According to a statement made on Tuesday night by the Clerk of the House, G.M. Gillis-West, the Assembly invited the nominees for screening on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m.
