All is set for the elective 2025 Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), which holds July 31 in Abuja.
FTAN is the umbrella body for private sector tourism industry practitioners in Nigeria and the 2025 AGM is expected to usher in a new leadership for the federation. The current president of the association, Nkereuwem Onung has served his mandatory four years tenure and the federation is expected to elect a new president. The candidates vying for the top job of the body are Prof. Wasiu Babalola and Dr. Aliyu Badaki.

This year’s AGM with the theme, ‘Tourism Policy, Implementation, Promotion and Governance: The Stake of the Private Sector’, will have a discussion segment, with Hannatu Musawa, Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Industry, as the special guest of honour.
Onung disclosed that plans had reached an advanced stage for the elective AGM/Tourism Conference, stressing that it promises to be a celebratory occasion as it will afford the operators the opportunity to appraise the Federation, Nigerian tourism development and growth as well as chart a new course for the future.
On the list of special guests for the one-day event are Mohammed Ali Ndume, chairman, Senate Committee on Culture and Tourism, alongside foreign envoys and notable guests.
