Shake-up in FRSC as Oyeyemi re-deploys senior officers, others

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps {FRSC}, Dr.BoboyeOyeyemi, has approved the redeployment of Deputy Corps Marshals, Assistant Corps Marshals, Corps Commanders, Deputy Corps Commanders and intermediate ranks, who are all expected to report to their new commands with immediate effect.

 

The FRSC announced last night through the spokesperson,BisiKazeem, that the redeployment, is a routine exercise intended to enhance its capacity for superior performance and efficiency.

 

Among those affected in the top echelon are the Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM), H.Z. Fomsuk, formerly in charge of Special Duties and External Relations (SDER), who takes over headship of the Department of Motor Vehicle Administration at the national headquarters, Abuja;and DCM Victor C Nwokolo, the outgoing Zonal Commanding Officer RS8HQ in Ilorin, who is now the Head of Policy, Research and Statistics Department, also at the national headquarters (RSHQ).

 

Assistant Corps Marshal {ACM}KayodeOlagunju PhD, former Zonal Commanding Officer, (ZCO) RS4HQ,Jos, proceeds to Udi, Enugu State, as the Commandant FRSC Academy, while ACM Kingsley Agomoh, the erstwhile Zonal Commanding Officer, (ZCO) RS6HQ Port Harcourt, moves to the Corps Project Implementation office.

Similarly, ACM A.B.Datzama has been directed to take over the helm of affairs in the Department of Special Duties and External Relations,while ACM M Adetunji, the Deputy Corps Secretary, becomes ACM Personnel at the national headquarters.

 

Kazeem said that ACM S. Iyamah, who is currently heading the Corps Budget Office, as well as ACM R.T.Kumven,in charge of the Corps Safety Engineering Office, are to retain their positions, but ACM E.N.Obot, former Corps Commander in charge of Policy Advisory Unit under the office of the Corps Marshal, moves to Command Administration and Strategies (CAS) at the Operations Department RSHQ, just as ACM M.R.Yerimahas been redeployed from CC Research to ACM Man Power Development.

 

Theexercisealso affected Zonal Commanding Officers with ACM Osadebamwen, former ACM Manpower Development, moving to Adamawa as ZCO RS3HQ Yola; ACM O.C. Oladele, the outgoing Commandant FRSC Academy, Udi,redeployed to RS8HQ Ilorin as the Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO); and former Sector Commander, Bayelsa ACM C.B.Nkwonta,heading the Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO) RS6HQ Port Harcourt, as the outgoing Deputy Commandant FRSC Command and Staff College.

Also affected are ACM G.O.Omiko PhD, who moves to RS1HQ Kaduna as Zonal Commanding Officer, and the erstwhile Sector Commander,Anambra State, ACM A.A. Kumapayi, now redeployed to RS5HQ Benin as Zonal Commanding Officer. The outgoing Sector Commander, RS7.1 FCT ACM A.G.Wobin,is now ZCO RS4HQ Jos.

 

The FRSC spokesman explained that apart from Jos, Kaduna, Ilorin, Benin, and Port Harcourt Zonal Commands, all Zonal Commanding Officers in other zones remain in their respective commands.

 

Expectedly, out of the 37 Sector Commands, 27 Sector Commanders retained their positions while the remaining 10 states were affected. Those posted to the affected Sector Commands include: Corps Commander (CC) Okoyeocha Patrick, Delta State;  CC IroDanladi, Zamfara State; CC I.U. Boyi, Anambra State; CC J.S. Udoabba, Enugu Stat; CC O.S. Ochi, FCT; CC A.K. Okore, Ebonyi; CC P.I. Ugwu, Abia; CC U.A. Ibrahim,  Bayelsa; CC O.I. Ameh, Cross River; and CC M.O.Olonisaye, Akwa Ibom.

 

Other officers redeployed are: CC I Ibrahim who is to assume duty as the Corps Provos; CC M.A.Jatau, the Sector Commander, Abia who proceeds to Inspectorate Training School OwaAlero as Commandant; CC Ofordu, the erstwhile Sector Commander, Cross River going to FRSC Command and Staff College, as Deputy Commandant; CC U.I.Ojeamirandirected to report to FRSC Academy Udi as the Deputy Commandant;and CC A.O.Omotayo, replaces him {Ojeamiran} as the head FRSC Post Service Scheme.

In the same vein, former Head National Road Safety Advisory Council (NARSAC), CC A.O.Oladayo-Odeleye, who has been redeployed to head FRSC Print Farm, will be replaced by CC L.T.Bamigbayan, while CC M.A.Dapel retains his position as the head of Signage Plant Gwagwalada; and CC Y.K.Nadabo becomes the Corps Commander in charge of Local Government Area Station Officers.

CC C.O.Asommoves to CC Special Marshals at the national headquarter; JO Asaolu now heads the Policy Advisory Unit in the Office of the Corps Marshal, and I Ibrahim assumes duties as Deputy Corps Secretary.

 

Also, out of about 13 Assistant Corps Commanders that were affected, six were posted to assume duties as Unit Commanders.

 

Kazeem also disclosed that the shake-up was pursuant to the recent approval of the promotion of senior officers by the Federal Road Safety Commission and the need to strategically reposition the corps for optimal performance.

 

In the memo containing the posting, the Corps Marshal admonished the redeployed officers to double their efforts, remain steadfast in their dedication to duties, and to share in the FRSC vision of making Nigerian roads safer for all motorists.
