Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has expressed grief over the death of the Ogun State Sector Commander, Oludare Ogunjobi, describing his passing as another devastating loss to the Corps at a time when it was still mourning the departure of one of its distinguished former leaders.
He conveyed the condolences of the management and workforce of the Corps to the family of the deceased, officers and marshals of the Ogun State Sector Command, and all those whose lives were touched by the late Sector Commander.
He lamented that the news of Ogunjobi’s death had once again plunged the FRSC into mourning, deepening the sorrow of an institution that has, in recent days, been confronted with the painful reality of losing men who devoted their lives to its service.
“There are moments when words become inadequate to express the depth of our grief. This is one of such moments for the Federal Road Safety Corps. Just as we struggle to come to terms with the loss of our former Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, the death of Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi has brought another painful reminder of how fragile life is and how deeply the loss of a colleague can affect an entire family. These are difficult days for us as an institution and our hearts are heavy,” the Corps Marshal lamented.
He noted that beyond the uniform and the responsibilities of office, every officer is a member of a larger family bound together by shared sacrifices, common purpose and an enduring commitment to saving lives on Nigerian roads.
He added that the death of a colleague is, therefore, not merely the loss of an individual but a painful separation felt across the entire Corps. He urged officers and marshals, particularly those of the Ogun State Sector Command, to remain united at this period of grief and to draw strength from their shared commitment to the service of humanity.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed Sector Commander and asked Almighty God to comfort his immediate family, grant them the strength to endure the irreparable loss and uphold the entire FRSC family at this trying period.
He affirmed that although death may silence a voice and end a journey, it cannot erase the memories, relationships and contributions left behind by a life dedicated to service.
