The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that three persons lost their lives while seven others sustained injuries in a fatal car crash along the Abeokuta–Sagamu Road in Ogun State.
The accident, which occurred at the Onipepeye axis in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, involved a Sino truck and an Opel passenger car.
According to a statement issued by Superintendent Route Commander Odunsin Afolabi, the crash happened around 5:40 p.m. on Saturday.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the probable causes of the crash were speed violations and loss of control,” he said.
Afolabi said the injured victims were promptly evacuated to the State Hospital in Ijaye for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the hospital’s mortuary.
Reacting to the incident, the FRSC Ogun Sector Commander, Oludare Ogunjobi, urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy to prevent avoidable accidents.
“The State Sector Commander, Oludare Ogunjobi, has urged motorists to maintain safe speed limits and ensure their vehicles are in good mechanical condition to prevent avoidable traffic crashes,” he concluded.
