In the previous edition, we shared about the various factors involved in the process of restoration; and also began the discussion on action steps to restoration. Job was our Bible Model. You too like Job, can move from the worst devastation of your life into a glorious restoration experience. Job’s life does not only show us the nature of divine restoration but also highlight steps we can take to make it our own reality also. Here are the steps, inspired by Job’s example, to take and enjoy God’s restoration:
REPENT
“Wherefore I abhor [myself], and repent in dust and ashes.”-Job 42:6. Repentance is vital in your bid to experience true restoration. Job suddenly discovered that he opened the door to the devil through fear. Whatever goes wrong in a man’s life is traceable to him. Every access the devil has to your life, is as permitted by you. Therefore, give no place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27. To repent in this sense is to align with God and shut that door you had opened for the devil.
LOVE GOD
“Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.” – Job 2:9-10. Job was an addicted lover of God in spite of all his challenges. His three friends mocked him; yet, love moved him to pray for them. Your genuine love for God will flow to all men, including those who hurt you (1 John 4:20-21). It was after Job’s demonstration of love that God restored him. Job was a lover of God with proofs to show. You cannot turn your back on the God of restoration and experience restoration.
HAVE FAITH
“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him. He also [shall be] my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.” – Job 13:15-16. Faith is a vital key to accessing your restoration package from God. Job’s faith was unwavering and his trust was total. The deeper your revelation, the stronger your trust in God. If you drop your faith, you have closed the door to your restoration. What you do not believe, you cannot be empowered to become (Luke 1:45).
PRAY AND FAST
“[Is] not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? [Is it] not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward. Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I [am]. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; And [if] thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness [be] as the noonday:” – Isaiah 58:6-10.
Prayer and fasting is a powerful platform to violently access and take delivery of your restoration. You engage in spiritual warfare through prayer and fasting, to destroy the hold of the wicked over what belongs to you (Luke 11:21-22). Having the understanding that God can and will restore to us whatever we have lost or was stolen from us; will give us the boldness or confidence to make demands for total restoration of the things that we have lost.
Conclusively, haven followed this discourse to this end, it’s necessary to reiterate that restoration is God’s will for your life. God can restore you in measures beyond description. God can pay or restore both in arrears and in advance. He never intends that your loss, of whatever kind, would be your only reality or a permanent one. However, whatever God intends for you in the form of restoration is only accessible by your personal connection with Him through faith in Jesus Christ; and also practically enforced by the covenant practices enumerated above. My prayer for you is that you will receive the grace to rise above your losses and experience supernatural restoration in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
DECISION TIME
The best gift of life is time. The best gift of time is now. The best use of now is the decision to secure and prepare for eternity. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, please don’t let this moment pass you. You’re just a decision away from a secured eternity. You can pray this prayer to surrender to Jesus: “Lord Jesus, I believe you died for me. I accept you into my life as my Saviour and Lord. Forgive my sins and give me power to live for you the rest of my life on earth”. Amen. Congratulations! If you have prayed this prayer, you are now born again.
