In the heart of Potiskum Local Government, Yobe State, a remarkable individual named Capt (Dr.) M.I. Musa was born on July 27, 1990.
His life’s trajectory is a compelling narrative of service, faith, and relentless pursuit of knowledge. Before donning the military uniform, Musa dedicated himself to education, shaping young minds across various levels, from primary to tertiary institutions in Yobe State.
His transition from a teacher to the Chief Imam in the Nigerian Army is a testament to his unwavering commitment to both education and spiritual guidance.
As a religious leader and Head of Islamic Affairs Department in the barrack, he played a pivotal role in the spiritual and moral guidance of troops. His responsibilities span leading congregational, Friday, and Eid prayers, including officiating funeral rites, and presiding naming and marriage ceremonies, as well as performing various military-related duties rooted in Islamic ethnics and discipline.
Despite the demands of his military career, Musa’s passion for academia remains undiminished. He is an ambitious scholar who has contributed to numerous scholarly journals and conferences, both locally and internationally. His academic journey has taken him through six (6) different universities, where he obtained the following qualifications:
1. PhD in Islamic Studies (In-view), from Federal University, Gashua.
2. Doctorate Degree in Peace and Security Management, from Prowess University Delaware, USA.
3. Master of Public Policy & Administration (MPPA), from Bayero University, Kano.
4. Master of of Arts in Islamic Studies, from Bauchi State University, Gadau.
5. Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), from University of Maiduguri
6. Bachelor of Arts in Arabic & Islamic Studies, from Yobe State University, Damaturu
The military officer is a seasoned administrator, peace advocate, and public diplomat, who has earned recognition through various professional affiliations and fellowships, including:
1. Member – Nigerian Army Resource Centre (MNARC)
2. Member – Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (MTRCN)
3. Fellow – Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria (FIPMA)

Capt (Dr.) M.I. Musa is a devoted family man, happily married to two wives and blessed with five children, balancing his professional and personal life with grace and dedication.
