Real Sociedad manager Sergio Francisco addressed the media after the draw against Valencia, explaining why Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar currently does not have a shirt number and did not rule out his continued presence at Anoeta.

Sadiq’s future appears more uncertain, especially since Real Sociedad left him without a number just hours before their LaLiga EA Sports debut against Valencia. However, Francisco’s statements following the match—where Take Kubo scored a fantastic goal—might indicate a possible change in Sadiq’s situation.

Sadiq is presently without a number, but Francisco clarified, “The reason he doesn’t have a number is that some players were left without one for this match. There are free numbers available, and we will assess the situation as the transfer window closes.” Regarding Sadiq’s potential departure, he added: “He is a player who is currently in open talks, with all kinds of possibilities on the table, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t in our plans. We’ll see what happens with him in the next two weeks, but I cannot guarantee whether he will stay or leave.”
