A two-time senator, Francis Alimikhena, has been appointed the Okumagbe of Uwanno Kingdom in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.
The appointment was approved by the Edo State executive council on July 6, 2026.
Alimikhena was in the Senate between 2015 – 2023. He was elected into the 8th National Assembly in 2015 and was made the Deputy Chief Ehip of
the Senate even as a first-timer.
He was re-elected to the Senate in 2019, where he served as the chairman of the Senate committee on Customs, Excise and Tarif.
The executive governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is expected to present the
staff of ofice to the traditional ruler on the 22nd of this month.
A statement signed by the chairman, media of the planning committee, High Chief Tony Akiotu,
says the coronation will be attended by eminent sons and daughters of Uwanno Kingdom within
and outside Nigeria.
