JAMB

De Imperial Philanthropic Family has unveiled a N50 million scholarship for outstanding JAMB candidates.

Speaking at a press conference in Lekki, Lagos, National President of the foundation, Sir Darlington Nwabunike, said the purpose of the scholarship is to reward Nigeria’s top JAMB performers in 2025.

Sir Nwabunike said the vision is to reduce poverty through education, adding that the scholarship is entirely funded by the members’ contributions with no involvement of government or external partners.

According to him, the scholarship would support students who scored above 250 in the JAMB exam, with awards structured into two categories: N20 million (N500,000 each) for the top performers in each of Nigeria’s 36 states and Abuja and N30 million (N1,000,000 each) for the 25 best-performing students in South East Nigeria.

Chairman of the education committee, Chief Chikezie Okonkwo, reiterated that the application and selection process would be free, fair and credible.

He said that it is open to all eligible students.

Also contributing, a member of the education committee, Ezeh Chinoso, appealed to students to take advantage of the scholarship as it is intended to help alleviate the suffering of parents who go through a lot to send their children to the universities.

Dr Frank Igbojindu, chief executive officer, Best Brain Contest, said the initiative underscores De Imperial Philanthropic Family’s commitment to nurturing educational excellence and empowering Nigerian youth.

He expressed appreciation for the trust placed in his company to continue managing the organisation’s scholarship programmes.
