The Olaronke Thaddeus Foundation is set to give out free IVF at its maiden fertility awareness conference in Lagos.
The foundation, in collaboration with Meet Surrogate Mothers Agency, will dole out free in vitro fertilization (IVF) to 15 would-be parents as part of the highlights of the first infertility awareness day taking place on Thursday, May 30, at the Eko Hotel in Lagos.
In a statement signed by founder, Meet Surrogate Mothers Agency, Mrs. Olaronke Thaddeus, the fertility awareness programme is aimed at educating women battling infertility on the various methods they can explore to have their babies rather than waiting endlessly.
“The main purpose of the conference on May 30, 2024, is to educate women about various approaches to solving infertility issues, which have now become a global issue affecting every couple. Again, 15 couples who meet up with our procedures would be selected to benefit from the free IVF,” she said.
She added, “Fertility issues are a passion for me. Talking to women about fertility and how to go about solving them and gaining reproductive knowledge and support when needed. There is a need to raise awareness about surrogacy services, stating that infertility has not only become a global issue but is also alarming, as one in every four couples suffers from infertility.

“I quite understand that this means of having babies is not very cheap because IVF is expensive, and with the current economic situation in the country, it is more expensive to do IVF.”
