Rector Cares Foundation has partnered with Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) to implement solar-powered sanitation and menstrual hygiene projects across selected host communities in Rivers State.
The initiative, currently underway and expected to be completed within three months, is designed to improve access to safe sanitation facilities, promote proper hygiene practices, and create healthier learning environments for students and residents.
Under the partnership, a solar-powered sanitation facility is being constructed at a school in Amadi-Ama, Port Harcourt. The facility will feature separate sections for boys and girls as well as handwashing stations to encourage good hygiene among students.

Another solar-powered sanitation facility is also being developed in Ogbunabali to provide the surrounding community with improved access to safe and sustainable sanitation infrastructure.
According to the foundation, the two sanitation projects are expected to benefit more than 1,000 students.
As part of the intervention, Rector Cares Foundation will also implement a menstrual hygiene programme in Finima, Bonny, where over 200 girls will receive menstrual hygiene education and sanitary pads to help them manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence.
