The Hearts Aglow Foundation, in partnership with the Children Evangelism Ministry International and the United Nation Association of Nigeria, (UNA-N) has hosted a Basic First Aid and Fire Training event in Lagos.
The training equipped participants with life-saving skills, focusing on basic first aid techniques and fire safety measures.
Over 50 teenagers, teachers, volunteers, caregivers were selected for the training
The Founder/Executive Director of Hearts Aglow Foundation, Dr. Monica Nwosu expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all partners who collaborated with the organization.
She said the training is to equip individuals with essential knowledge and skills to respond to emergencies. “Fire training focuses on fire prevention, fire safety procedures, and the use of firefighting equipment. First aid training covers immediate care for injuries and medical emergencies until professional help arrives, including techniques like CPR and wound care,” she said.
She added: “We seek to promote a culture of safety in communities by empowering individuals with the necessary skills to respond to emergencies. By equipping participants with basic first aid and fire safety skills, the training aims to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities.
President of the United Nations Association of Nigeria in his opening remarks, commended the Foundation for its advocacy on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDGs 3, 4, 8, and 17, as he encouraged the organisation to continue its impactful work.
The foundation donated fire extinguishers and first aid boxes to participating schools and churches as a way of encouraging them on safety commitment and consciousness.
