Ahbidi Foundation has donated equipment to Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care and Treatment Home School, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, to improve the wellbeing of children with cerebral palsy, carpal tunnel syndrome and autism.
Adeola Victoria Ilavbare, a member of the foundation, said, “This cause started three years ago after Mr. Ope Awolesi, founder of the NGO, visited the home and had an encounter with some of the children.
“That experience was like a seed that was sown, which has now manifested into what you’re seeing today.
“The visit is based on the encounter we had with the children. This project is also in line with the foundation’s vision of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, which is to give children with disabilities a better opportunity to survive in a healthy mind by helping them to recognize their abilities more than they see their disabilities and learn together in high-quality, inclusive environments.
“The equipment would be deployed in earnest to further boost their will to recover as they are guided through by physiotherapists.”
A representative of the home commended and thanked the foundation for its gesture, as the equipment would be of great assistance to the children: “We pray that more NGOs will come to the rescue of the less privileged children in the society.”
