Pupils and teachers across all public secondary schools in the Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun, and Orolu Local Government Areas of Osun State have received 100,000 free exercise books to support a smooth start to the new academic session.
The notebooks were distributed in Osogbo at the weekend by Desmond Adekanola, Project Coordinator of the ITK Foundation, on behalf of the organization’s chairman, Ibraheem Taofeek Kayode.
Commending Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Murtala Jimoh, for approving the exercise, Adekanola assured the public that the distribution would become an annual event.
“This program involves distributing 100,000 free exercise books to students. It stems from Ibrahim Taofeek Kayode’s philanthropic mission to support young people and ease financial burdens on parents.

“Driven by a strong belief that education is the bedrock of any thriving society, the ITK Foundation chose to assist parents across 50 secondary schools in the Osogbo Federal Constituency. Every student, teacher, and principal in these public schools will benefit,” Adekanola said.
Addressing the target area, comprising the Irepodun, Olorunda, Osogbo, and Orolu local governments, Adekanola noted that Taofeek, who is the All Progressives Congress candidate for the Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections, chose to launch the outreach in his home communities before expanding to other areas.
“Charity begins at home, which is why the foundation started here. Over time, we plan to extend this support to other constituencies, particularly within Osun Central,” Adekanola stated.
He emphasized that despite Taofeek’s political background, the initiative is strictly humanitarian. “Ibraheem Taofeek is a politician and a philanthropist, but this outreach is purely a philanthropic gesture driven by his commitment to helping others, not politics,” he added.
