The O.B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation ushered in the new year with its annual celebration for elderly beneficiaries of the Care for Life programme. Held at the Foundation’s Biokpo Recreational Centre, in Abonnema, Rivers State, the event brought together the elderly, foundation staff and esteemed guests, including Dr. Seinye O.B. Lulu-Briggs, chairman of the foundation.

The festive atmosphere was filled with music, dance, and heartfelt messages from supporters. Dr. Lulu-Briggs, in her address, emphasized the foundation’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of its elderly beneficiaries.

“Our intervention in the lives of the elderly is not a one-off,” Dr. Lulu-Briggs said. “Until the Lord Almighty decides to call them home, they are our responsibility. They become our mothers and our fathers, and we care for them until that particular day.”

The Care for Life programme, a cornerstone of the Foundation’s mission, provides comprehensive support to elderly individuals, including medical care, personal assistance, and emotional support. “This programme embodies the foundation’s philosophy of lifelong care, ensuring dignity, comfort, and a sense of family for our elders,” Dr. Lulu-Briggs added.

The event honoured the memory of the late Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs, whose vision continues to guide the foundation’s impactful work. Guests enjoyed a variety of activities, including creative painting sessions and vibrant musical performances.

The O.B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation continues to be a beacon of hope for vulnerable populations in Rivers State, setting a remarkable example of compassionate care and community support.
